
JAKARTA – The case of personal data leakage has once again occurred in Indonesia. This time, 230 thousand COVID-19 patients’ data have been leaked and traded on the hacker forum.
From VOI searches, a user on the online RaidForums called Database Shopping had displayed about 230 thousand rapid test results. The data was allegedly leaked since May 20th. The data was only uploaded on Thursday, June 19th, 2020.
In the statement, the data is stored in the form of MySQL. Based on the spoiler data, it contains personal information. Including names, citizenship status, date of birth, age, telephone number, home address, Population Identity Number (NIK). There are also the names of Indonesian and foreign citizens with the status of people under surveillance (ODP) and patients under surveillance (PDP).

So far, the user claims to have 230 thousand citizen data related to Covid-19 in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the official government data shows that the PCR tests conducted in Indonesia reach 366,581 people.
The validity of these data is not certain though. There were several forum members who responded to the post while asking the price of each data leaked.
The government itself has not commented on the leaking of citizen data related to Covid-19.
